First Day of School

Already a busy day! Thaniel and Abby headed off to school this morning, leaving Isabel and I all alone to fend for ourselves from now on until next summer. We will miss having them home to play with during the day. Isabel loves to play with her big brother and sister, but only in small increments. Then she wants Mommy back! Now she'll probably get sick of just seeing only my face all day long, day in and day out! I plan to sign us up for swimming lessons at the YMCA once she turns 6 months old. (3 short weeks!) All the child and parent classes start at the age of 6 months and up. She turns 21 weeks tomorrow. Where has all the time gone?

Well, Kendel made it safe and sound to work. He said the bus ride wasn't too bad, about a person a seat. Lots of college kids dropped off at the university before his stop. Then he walked a little over a mile the rest of the way to work from the bus stop. Took him about 20-25 minutes. He figured he'd see how long it would take him to walk instead of paying to get on another city bus from his stop from the other one for that short distance, plus it would give him some exercise. You should see him- he should be really proud of himself. He has lost quite a bit of weight. He's looking good! Now if only I could stop gaining the weight that he's losing...!

I have to share these pics...

Pretty disgusting, right? This is what was sent to us from an Ebay seller for an auction we won for a Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo that was described as "barely used"...!!#*&^%$$##*%#$#^% What the...? The one picture she had on the auction site was from a distance. We obviously were wrong in assuming that "barely used" meant that it's used, but still in good, clean condition. This is what we got instead. This is what her picture didn't show. And she had the audacity to write me back to my complaint, that this was sent to us absolutely filthy and crusted with what I assume is her childs food, spit-up, drool, etc... that she didn't bother to clean off first, that she wiped it down before she sent it, and that all the scuff marks must be from the box when it was shipped, and she's shocked due to having 100% positive feedback, and how dare I complain and compare it to looking like something dirty and cheap someone would sell in a rummage sale. Who do you agree with??? Can't argue with these gross pictures I sent to her, can she???? And she's a mom!!! Would she want someone to send something like this to her for her to use for her child? We expected to find some gentle signs of use if it was barely used, and sent to us relatively clean. Who would sell this and send this to someone in this condition and expect to continue to get positive feedback? Needless to say, Kendel and I were absolutely appalled, and demanded she refund us our money and let us send it back, due to we felt her picture and description were misleading and did not describe, reflect or show the true condition of this item. Of course, after giving me an attitude about it, she offered only to reimburse us for the cost of the item only, not the shipping we've already paid, plus we'd have to pay shipping costs AGAIN to send it back to her. I just decided to hell with it- we'll have to consider this a hard lesson learned and give in and clean this up as best as possible and make the best of it. With our tight finances right now, we can't afford to spend anymore money on this person's disgusting item than we already have. So, warning to all buying from ebay- sadly, never trust the descriptions or even pictures- ask specific questions re: has it been cleaned, ask for additional close up pictures, and make sure they have a return policy. She didn't specify one way or the other.
Well, can you tell how upset, angry and disappointed I am at that? Sorry- had to share and vent about that drama...
Isabel is getting tired and cranky for naptime. She is sitting on my lap trying to help me type:)

Just the beginning...

To my dear family and friends,

Oh, where to start... seeing as my sister-in-law, my best friend in California, and a few others all have started their own blogs to keep all their family and friends updated and informed about all the important (and sometimes not all that important, but fun to talk about none-the-less:)) goings on in their lives, I thought I'd jump on the band wagon and share our family adventures too.

Well, the crazy days of summer are officially over as of midnight tonight in respects to this being the first day back to school for Thaniel and Abby. I am not looking forward to getting up early to get them off to school, seeing as Isabel is a night owl- late to bed, late to rise. She'll probably be sleeping while I get up to get them off. Plus I have to get hubby off by 6am to the commuter bus to Milwaukee due to he's having car trouble and being the holiday weekend, was unable to get it fixed yet, and does not want to leave me without a vehicle at home, so he will be riding the bus into work today. I feel bad for him- but maybe he can get in a nap on the way! Stress free- no driving in the crazy rush hour. He gets to sit and relax on the bus and let the bus driver deal with it. Without road rage I hope!

Isabel is growing at a remarkable rate- she doesn't look like my little baby girl anymore (not that she was ever that little to begin with!) She is off the charts (over the 100th percentile) for height and weight, and in the 60th percentile for her head circumference! The pediatrician and I laughed at Isabel with her little head on top of that long body, and the doc joked it isn't the size of the head that matters... it's the gray matter inside it that does. oh, Izzy, Izzy, Izzy! Such the talker lately. Or yelling is more likely. She likes to listen to herself open her mouth wide open and make this funny noise from the back of her throat as loud as she can. It is hilarious. And she is eating like crazy- has a huge appetite and is quite the good eater already. Not nearly as messy an eater as Thaniel or Abby was. I think they wore their food more than they ate it. Including some recent pics of the kids.

Well, should get off to bed. Hope everyone is happy and healthy. Love to all...
